DAY CAMPS

ponykidsSummer day camps are run at specified weeks during the summer, depending on demand. If there is a week that you would like to attend camp, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Each week is limited to 4 riders and we try to ensure that all students are at roughly the same level. All levels of students are welcome, from beginners to advanced. Students will ride daily and participate in activities to increase their knowledge about horses. Full day camp students will have a morning lesson and an afternoon “ecology” exploration by the pond. Brandie completed and Environmental Engineering Technology degree at Georgian College, which makes her uniquely qualified for the eco-camp aspect. Day camps are also run over the March break and Christmas holidays. Spots do fill up quickly, so please book early to ensure your place.  The goal of day camp is to give students full immersion in horse education. Beginners will learn about proper handling and care of horses and equipment. More advanced students will learn about the management of a farm and how to treat different injuries and ailments. Horses are very compliant in these matters so there will often be real injuries for the students to learn about. If possible, we will try and have the farrier or vet visit to teach students about the two professions.
